Night Warehouse & Transport Manager

to oversee our warehouse and transport operations during the night shift.

This is a senior role with real influence, combining operational leadership with compliance and financial awareness. We need someone who can keep the warehouse running smoothly at night, ensure drivers are fully supported and compliant, and use data and analysis to make our transport department as efficient and profitable as possible.

The Role

As Night Warehouse & Transport Manager, you will:

Take responsibility for goods-in, warehouse readiness, and night operations. Oversee drivers leaving site, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, checks are completed, and loads are secure. Work closely with the Day Transport & Warehouse Manager on projects to improve efficiency, service levels, and cost control. Use your CPC Transport Manager qualification and financial knowledge to drive efficiencies, improve P&L performance, and ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Transport & Fleet Management

Oversee night transport operations and act as the first point of contact for operational issues. Ensure compliance with driver hours, WTD, tachographs, and vehicle regulations. Support drivers with route and delivery issues, ensuring loads are correct and safe. Monitor and report on transport costs, route profitability, and service levels using logistics software. Produce accurate KPIs and provide clear updates for senior management. Hold a 7.5T licence and be willing to drive only in emergencies.
Warehouse & Night Operations

Oversee goods-in, ensuring deliveries are checked, recorded, and stored correctly. Make sure the warehouse is fully prepared for the next day by coordinating cleaners, goods-in staff, and maintenance support. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised warehouse environment. Liaise with the full time handyman to address equipment issues quickly. Provide a detailed handover to the day team for smooth continuity. Collaborate with the Day Transport & Warehouse Manager on shared projects and improvements.

What We're Looking For

CPC Transport Manager qualification

- essential for compliance and financial efficiency. Proven experience managing transport operations and/or warehouse teams. Strong IT skills with logistics software and good Excel skills - able to build and adapt spreadsheets, not just complete templates. Financial awareness, with the ability to analyse P&L, track costs, and improve profitability. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with confidence leading people and solving problems in real time. 7.5T licence (for emergency cover only).
