Our warehouse operatives are responsible for handling all pallets within our warehouse and transport environment safely, securely and accurately.
We're looking for someone who can slot into our busy nights operational team and
efficiently load/unload
palletised freight from our network trunks, trailers and rigid vehicles.
Operating a counterbalance FLT, the role itself can be
fast paced
at times with the
time pressure
of getting vehicles on their way, trunk departure times and the challenge of loading the trailers
efficiently and safely
mindful that you may be handling hazardous (ADR) freight at times.
Our warehouse is BRCGS and Soil Association accredited storing ambient food product, food packaging and non-food product. There are high standards to uphold, whilst championing a safe and compliant operation, to ensure food safety, legality and quality. You will also be a key part of keeping our BRCGS accredited warehouse clean, tidy and organised.
You'll be working
00:00 to 10:00 Monday to Friday
with a 45-minute break (46.25 hours). Your first shift of the week will start on Monday night at midnight through to 10:00 on Tuesday. Your final shift of the week will start at Friday midnight and end at 10:00 on Saturday morning.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
Handle all freight safely and carefully, mindful that it may be food product, food packaging product, allergen or even hazardous (ADR) product
Unloading inbound vehicles, trailers and containers and reloading on vehicles and trailers for onward transit
Moving pallets to marshalling areas when not immediately reloaded
Safe and efficient use of Counterbalance and/or Pivot FLT completing all required checks
Loading outbound vehicles, trailers and double deck trailers safely, efficiently and accurately
Completing and documenting inbound and outbound checks to ensure stock integrity and accuracy, reporting any non-conformances or potential transit safety issues
Following procedures, using bar code scanners, to ensure accuracy
Housekeeping and cleaning activities to maintain high quality standards
Supporting the wider warehouse team, working together to ensure all tasks completed
Required Skills:
Valid counterbalance licence (pivot licence not essential)
Flexibility in both working hours and tasks to cover absence and increases in workflow
Proactive, problem solving and conscientious approach
