Nightshift Paint Sprayer

Derby: Commutable from Nottingham, Belper, Burton, Ashby De La Zouch

14.78p/h + 25% shift bonus = 18.48p/h

About the Role

A key responsibility is to ensure that the business meets its production/delivery schedule on time and that paint specs and client specifications are met to a high standard first time, every time. As a skilled Paint Sprayer, the successful candidate will follow all safety precautions whilst using Wagner & Graco airless pressure pumps and hand application on all types of structural steel such as columns, beams and rafters. You will liaise closely with the Material Handler, Quality Assurance Inspectors and your Supervisor to ensure the smooth workflow of the factory operation.

Working hours: 16.30-03.00 Monday to Wednesday + 16.30-02.00 Thursday + Overtime when available Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Key Skills, Experience & Attributes

Work to daily targets to ensure all steels are completed to the highest quality standards set by the BKHS processes Lay out all steel to be painted ready for cleaning. Tick off steels against the painting list to ensure the correct steels are being cleaned and painted. Ensure correct mixing ratios are followed when using hand mixed paints Ensure all steels are clean and grease free before spraying. Follow the painting procedures to acquire the correct wet film thickness by using wet film gauges. Carry out quality checks throughout process so DFT are met Ensure the correct use of supplied PPE. Sling steels in a safe manner ensuring all lifting equipment being used has correct tags and weight limits for the steels is within its lifting capacity. Use 10 Tonne cranes to lift steel into spray shop or storage area.

Personal Qualities

At least 2 years' experience in Industrial Paint Spraying. Work to high quality standards with the ability to inspect your own work. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, lists, and works instructions. A working experience and knowledge of spray and hand application of primer coating processes and operations for structural steel. Certified and experienced in moving and rotating steel beams/girders using 10 Tonne overhead gantry cranes. Have experience in quality checks such as DFT/WFT and surface preparation.
