Are you passionate about agriculture and animal health? NMR is seeking a reliable and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Self-Employed Milk Recorder, covering the Gloucester, Tetbury, and Cirencester areas. This unique opportunity allows you to work independently while playing a crucial role in supporting local dairy farmers with essential data collection and herd management. As a Milk Recorder, your main responsibilities will include visiting dairy farms on a scheduled basis, accurately recording milk yields and sampling milk from individual cows, and ensuring all data is entered promptly and correctly into our digital system. You will work closely with farmers and NMR staff to ensure the smooth running of the recording service, and you may also be required to provide guidance on sampling techniques and assist with basic troubleshooting of recording equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in livestock and the agricultural sector, excellent attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills. Previous experience with farm or animal handling is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. You must have access to your own vehicle, be comfortable working early mornings and flexible hours (including weekends), and possess good time management abilities to manage a variable workload. This is a self-employed position, so you will be responsible for managing your own schedule and invoicing.
