Are you looking for a flexible, self-employed role working with dairy farmers in the Swindon area? NMR is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Self-Employed Milk Recorders. In this essential role, you will be responsible for visiting dairy farms according to scheduled appointments, collecting milk samples from individual cows during milking sessions, accurately recording cow identification and milk yield data, and ensuring that all samples are prepared and labelled correctly for laboratory analysis. The data and samples you collect will play a crucial role in supporting herd health, breeding decisions, and overall farm productivity.
To succeed in this position, you should be comfortable working early mornings and occasionally evenings, as farm visits typically align with milking times. You will need to be organised, reliable, and able to work independently, managing your own schedule while adhering to strict procedures and deadlines. A keen attention to detail is essential for accurate data recording and sample handling. While experience in agriculture or working with livestock is desirable, full training will be provided. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as travel between farms is required. Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner are important, as you will be representing NMR and building relationships with our valued clients.
