Are you looking for flexible self-employed work in the Anglesey area? NMR is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Self-Employed Milk Sampler. This vital role supports the UK dairy industry by ensuring the quality and traceability of milk supplied by local farms. As a Milk Sampler, you will visit a designated list of dairy farms on a regular schedule, collecting milk samples directly from bulk tanks or milking parlours during collection times. You will be responsible for correctly labelling, recording, and storing samples, as well as completing on-site documentation and basic data entry using provided equipment.
The role requires excellent timekeeping, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You must maintain high standards of hygiene and follow protocols to prevent cross-contamination between farms. Clear and professional communication with farmers is essential, as is the ability to build good working relationships. You will transport samples safely to pre-arranged collection points or designated laboratories, following strict guidelines to preserve sample integrity. The position involves early morning, evening, or weekend work depending on farm schedules, so flexibility is key.
All applicants must have a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as travel between farms is required. Previous experience in agriculture, dairy, or laboratory work is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided. You should be comfortable working in all weather conditions and possess a strong sense of responsibility, as your work plays a crucial role in safeguarding milk quality for consumers.
