Are you looking for a flexible, self-employed role working independently in the agricultural sector? NMR is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Milk Sampler to join our network, covering Bromyard, Ledbury, St Weonards, and Hereford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy driving, working outdoors, and interacting with dairy farmers to contribute directly to the quality assurance of milk production.
As a Milk Sampler, your main responsibility will be to visit dairy farms on a scheduled route, collecting milk samples from bulk tanks and meters in accordance with strict procedural and hygiene standards. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will be responsible for accurate labelling and recording of samples before preparing them for timely transportation to our laboratory. You will also be required to communicate effectively with farmers and NMR field staff, reporting any issues or discrepancies encountered during your visits. The role involves early morning and evening work, with flexibility to suit your availability, and will require travel between farms in your allocated region.
To excel in this position, you must have a full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle. You should be comfortable working independently, possess strong organisational skills, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and biosecurity. Previous experience in agriculture or milk recording is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided. This is a self-employed position, offering competitive rates per farm visit plus mileage allowance.
