As a Self-Employed Milk Sampler, you'll play a vital role in supporting the dairy industry by collecting high-quality milk samples from local farms for analysis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, is comfortable driving in rural settings, and has a keen eye for detail.
Your main responsibilities will include visiting dairy farms on a regular schedule, collecting milk samples accurately from bulk tanks, and ensuring all samples are labelled and stored correctly for timely delivery to the laboratory. You'll be required to follow strict hygiene and sampling protocols, maintain accurate records of your visits, and liaise professionally with farmers and the NMR team. The role involves early morning and evening work, as well as occasional weekend visits, so flexibility is essential. You must have your own reliable vehicle, a full UK driving licence, and access to the internet for reporting and communication. Full training and sampling equipment will be provided, but previous experience working with livestock or in agriculture is an advantage.
