Are you looking for a flexible, self-employed opportunity in the Dorchester/Sherborne area? NMR is seeking a reliable and conscientious Milk Sampler to join our team. As a Milk Sampler, you will play a crucial role in supporting the quality and integrity of milk production by visiting local dairy farms to collect milk samples for analysis. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, has a keen eye for detail, and is committed to upholding high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Your main responsibilities will include visiting dairy farms according to a pre-arranged schedule, accurately collecting milk samples from bulk tanks and recording essential data. You will be required to handle and store samples in accordance with strict protocols to ensure their integrity for laboratory testing. Maintaining accurate records, communicating effectively with farm staff, and ensuring all equipment is cleaned and stored correctly are also key aspects of the role. Full training will be provided, but you must have a full UK driving licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and the flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and some weekends to fit around milking times.
This self-employed position offers competitive rates per visit, and all necessary sampling equipment will be supplied. You should be comfortable working alone, possess excellent organisational skills, and have a polite and professional approach when interacting with farm personnel. Prior experience in agriculture, dairy, or field-based work is beneficial, but not essential.
