National Milk Records (NMR) is seeking a reliable and diligent Milk Sampler to join our field team. As a Milk Sampler, you will play a crucial part in the dairy industry by collecting and recording milk samples from local farms, ensuring high standards of accuracy and professionalism throughout the process. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, meeting new people, and being part of the agricultural community.
Your key duties will include visiting dairy farms on a scheduled basis, collecting milk samples during milking sessions, and accurately recording relevant data using NMR's provided equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring samples are correctly labelled, stored, and transported to the designated laboratory in a timely manner. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, as well as effective communication with farmers to ensure the smooth running of sampling visits. Flexibility is essential, as the role often involves early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekend work to fit around farmers' milking schedules.
The ideal candidate will have their own reliable transport and a valid UK driving licence. You should be comfortable working independently, organised, and able to manage your own schedule efficiently. While experience in agriculture or milk sampling is beneficial, it is not essential as full training will be provided. A commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, confidentiality, and customer service is vital.
