Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint an additional Non-Executive Director to strengthen the breadth and depth of skills around the Board table. This is an opportunity to contribute to the governance and strategic leadership of a large, complex and values-led NHS organisation delivering mental health, community and specialist services across the South East and South West.



This is a part-time role, approximately 3 days per month.



As a Non-Executive Director, the post-holder will share collective responsibility for the performance, culture and long-term sustainability of the Trust, providing independent oversight, constructive challenge and strategic support to the executive team.



Key responsibilities include:



Supporting a culture of openness, learning and continuous improvement across the Trust

Working collaboratively with executive leaders, clinicians and governors to strengthen quality governance

Contributing fully to Board discussions on strategy, performance, risk and sustainability

Acting as an ambassador for the Trust, engaging with partners across the health and care system, including integrated care systems, local authorities, the voluntary sector and academic partners



We provide physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Oxford Health is interested in hearing from candidates who can bring board-level expertise in one or more of the following areas:



People, leadership and culture:

Candidates will bring board-level insight into people strategy, leadership development, organisational culture, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and workforce transformation within large, complex organisations. This could include experience in human resources, organisational development or related disciplines, with exposure gained in the commercial or wider public sector welcomed.

Estates and major capital programmes :

Candidates will offer board-level experience of estates strategy, infrastructure and capital investment, including oversight of major estates or transformation programmes in complex organisational settings. Experience gained in commercial environments would be an advantage.

Digital :

Candidates will bring board-level expertise in digital strategy and technology-enabled transformation, including data, systems, digital service delivery, digital infrastructure and Artifical Intelligence within large organisations. Commercial sector experience in these areas would be an advantage.
