The role
The Non-Technical Accountant will be a key member of the Non-Technical Finance team at The Fidelis Partnership. This collaborative role involves supporting and working collaboratively with various accounting functions and stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Key accountabilities
Assist in the monthly non-technical close process including processes such as payroll postings, bank reconciliations, prepayments, fixed assets, accruals, leases and other corporate transactions.
Assist and support the Accounts Payable function in process and review of supplier and employee expenses.
Assist where necessary with the annual business plan and reforecasting for corporate expenses
Assist in Monthly expense analysis by entity and cost centres.
Perform the calculation and monitoring of intra and inter-company balances in accordance with service agreements.
Assist with internal and external audit ensuring the timely completion of reviews and compliance with applicable accounting standards
Maintain and improve internal controls and procedures documentation
Keep Non-technical Accounting Manager and CFO fully informed of the status of the projects assigned, as well as relevant accounting-related issues that may arise from such projects
Prepare expense extracts for HR reporting purposes such as P11D and PSA and HMRC reg returns.

Skills & experience
A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
3+ years' post qualification experience preferably.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of applications with advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of relevant accounting software (previous experience with Oracle, SAP Concur and Aqilla preferred but not required)
Advanced and proven financial, analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of the finance team and other key stakeholders across different functions within the organization
Ability to work independently and good problem-solving skills
Excellent time management ability
Ability and willingness to work extended working hours and weekends as needed
