Location: Nottingham, NG2 3NG
Pay Rate: 36.00 per hour
About the Role:
Nottingham City Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Education & ASYE Coordinator to join our Children's Integrated Services team. This key position will lead the development, support, and training of social work students and newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) across the service. You will be responsible for coordinating placements, mentoring Practice Educators, and managing the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme, ensuring high standards of professional practice and continuous improvement.
Your role will be crucial in ensuring that social work students and NQSWs receive the guidance and support they need to become effective professionals and make a positive impact in the lives of children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of social work placements for students and NQSWs, ensuring they are supported throughout their training and initial years in practice.
  • Mentor and support Practice Educators, providing guidance and feedback to ensure effective learning and professional development.
  • Manage the ASYE programme, including overseeing assessments, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strong collaboration across agencies.
  • Produce and deliver professional reports, documents, and presentations using tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and contribute to the development of best practice in the ASYE programme and wider practice education.
What We're Looking For:
  • Recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., Degree, PGDip, MA/MSc).
  • Registration with a professional body, such as Social Work England.
  • Practice Education Qualification (e.g., Stage 2).
  • Proven experience in supporting and assessing student social workers and NQSWs.
  • Experience in coordinating training and development within a social work setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce professional documents and presentations.
  • Experience in implementing quality assurance processes and providing feedback to students and NQSWs.
Essential Requirements:
  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
