Kirsty's is a rapidly growing food manufacturing business, trading over multiple categories within the chilled & frozen fixtures supplying all major retailers.

Reporting to the NPD Manager, this role will ensure the successful launch of NPD & EPD projects. The NPD gate procedure should be followed in accordance to timings set by critical paths.

Responsibilities include creating samples in the NPD kitchen to be reviewed by internal teams and external customers. Approved products are then scaled up to factory trial to ensure successful production and support product launch.

Main Duties:



Support NPD & EPD projects from concept to launch following the NPD gate process.

Work in the NPD kitchen to assist with the creation of samples to include preparation of ingredients, cooking sauces and assembly of products.

Review new ingredients and packaging options. Also approval of samples from new/different suppliers.

Calculate nutritional information using Nutricalc.

Plan and prepare taste panels to review samples with team and collate feedback.

Plan factory trials for NPD & EPD projects. Including, ensuring any new raw materials and packaging are onsite. Trial paperwork to be set up and shared with required teams.

Present on trials to support teams and record data.

Work with teams in the factory to introduce new products and processes to ensure successful launch of new products and improvement to existing products and processes.

Organise product samples from trials for lab testing, cooking validation, organoleptic panels, customer presentations etc.

Carry out cooking and storage validation.

Hold organoleptic panels to review products over life to determine shelf life.

Drive quality and consistency of products produced from the factory by review with regular taste panels. Ensure detailed QAS documents are available for taste panels to allow affective scoring of samples.

Work with the technical team to ensure all documentation and quality standards are created for product trials and launch.

Assist in customer sample sessions and presentations.

Collate information for submission forms, pack copies and product specifications.

Ability to work to tight deadlines to meet critical path timeframes.

To be successful, you will need to have the following:



Branded & Own label experience desirable

Degree in Food Science or similar qualification

2 year experience in a Process Development role

Food safety/HACCP Level 3 desirable

Knowledge of Shelf life sampling & data interpretation

Knowledge of artwork approval

Microsoft Word and Excel

Excellent eye for detail

Ability to work on multiple tasks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 28,000.00-32,000.00 per year
