IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLEAbout the Role

Allicio is seeking a

New Product Development (NPD) Technician

to support the development and launch of innovative blended powder food products. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in food manufacturing or R&D who enjoys working in a laboratory and factory environment.

You will support new products from concept through to commercial production, working closely with R&D, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams to ensure products are safe, compliant, scalable, and meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Trials



Assist in formulating and developing new powder blends, including nutritional supplements, drink mixes, seasoning blends, and functional food powders

Carry out lab-scale trials, bench-top development, and sampling

Record accurate trial data, including formulations, processing conditions, and sensory feedback

Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support



Support pilot and full-scale factory trials

Assist with formulation and process adjustments to ensure manufacturability

Work alongside Production and QA teams during validation runs

Documentation & Compliance



Create and maintain product specifications, lab reports, and technical documentation

Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, nutritional, allergen, and labelling requirements

Support HACCP documentation, customer audits, and retailer approval systems

Ingredients, Quality & Innovation



Source and evaluate new ingredients and suppliers

Support shelf-life, stability, and packaging compatibility trials

Conduct sensory testing and contribute to product improvements

Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and cost optimisation

Skills & Experience Required

Diploma or Degree in

Food Science, Food Technology

, or a related discipline

1-3 years' experience

in food manufacturing, NPD, or R&D (powder blending experience desirable)

Knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, and formulation principles

Experience using lab equipment, mixers, and analytical tools

Strong organisational, documentation, and communication skills

IT-literate (Microsoft 365, Teams)

Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team
