Voltempo is developing rapid DC HyperCharging solutions for a range of commercial vehicle sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively internationally as the transport sector electrifies. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions, targeting commercial vehicles. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its role under the UK Government eFreight2030 programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy the UK's first eHGVs charging network.

About the Role:



We are looking for an innovative and results-driven Production Engineer with expertise in electric systems, particularly in electric vehicle charging systems. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, supporting facility operations, and integrating supply chain activities to ensure seamless manufacturing and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:



Design and implement efficient production workflows for manufacturing electric vehicle charging systems.

Ensure production processes comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Monitor and maintain production equipment, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

Collaborate with the design team to translate product specifications into scalable manufacturing processes.

Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the production line to improve efficiency and output.

Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including process workflows, maintenance schedules, and standard operating procedures.

Conduct regular training for operators and technicians on equipment usage and production processes.

Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance production capabilities.

Coordinate with the Quality Engineer to address production-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Analyse production data and metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Support supply chain operations by working closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

Collaborate with suppliers to address production challenges and ensure that materials meet required specifications.

Monitor inventory levels and assist in implementing just-in-time (JIT) strategies to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.

Contribute to supplier selection and qualification by providing production and engineering insights.

Provide support for day-to-day facility operations, including troubleshooting equipment and maintaining operational readiness.

Support production operations by ensuring adequate resources are allocated and addressing immediate challenges to maintain production schedules.

Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to improve business outcomes and support other functional teams.

Contribute to general business activities, including participating in project planning, performance reviews, and cross-functional meetings to align production goals with company objectives.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience as a Production/Manufacturing Engineer within experience in electric systems or EV charging systems.

Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Proficient in CAD software and manufacturing tools for designing and analysing production processes.

Hands-on experience with electric system components such as power electronics, connectors, and wiring.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process optimization.
