To support the Home/Service Manager in the overall leadership, management, and clinical governance of a specialist neurological care service. The Nurse Deputy Manager will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality person-centred care, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide clinical leadership to the nursing and care teams.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring best practice in nursing care for individuals with neurological conditions.
Support staff in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care tailored to complex neurological needs.
Maintain high standards of infection prevention, medication management, and safeguarding practices.
Management & Supervision:
Assist in managing staffing levels, rotas, and skill mix to meet service needs safely and effectively.
Supervise, mentor, and appraise nursing and care staff, identifying training and development needs.
Promote a positive team culture, encouraging collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure care delivery meets CQC (or relevant regulatory body) standards, company policies, and legal requirements.
Lead on audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, implementing action plans where needed.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic service development.
Communication & Liaison:
Act as a point of contact for residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies, ensuring clear and compassionate communication.
Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and liaise with specialists to ensure holistic care planning.
Support the Manager in building relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders.
Operational Support:
Deputise for the Home/Service Manager during periods of absence, maintaining safe and effective service operations.
Assist with budgeting, resource management, and administrative duties as required.
Participate in the recruitment, induction, and retention of staff.
Qualifications & Experience
Registered Nurse (Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disability) with active NMC registration.
Proven experience in a senior nursing role within a neurological, complex care, or similar specialist care environment.
Strong clinical skills, with the ability to lead by example and guide teams in best practice.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, and quality assurance in health or social care settings.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Pay: 48,000.00-54,000.00 per year
