Job Description

Band 5 Nurse, 37.5 hours per week



The successful applicant must demonstrate skills in all aspects of working in a busy department.



Ensure that the organisation and leadership of nursing and midwifery services supports the delivery of the highest standards of patient care in the pursuance of the Trust's objectives. The core nursing team is responsible for ensuring that effective systems of work are in place to ensure the safe delivery of evidence based patient care. Support effective patient flows and management of resources in the allocated clinical area in the Trust.



The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure that we provide a consistent service to our patients across the services we support.

Working in all areas of the department and being able to:

Take charge of the ward / unit where needed, prioritise and allocate work to other staff as appropriate.



Act as a clinical supervisor and preceptor as agreed with the Ward Manager.



Provide excellent standards of care.



Be aware of budgetary implications in relation to decisions.



Participate in 15 steps audit and improvement plans.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check:

21.50 + Administration cost of 5.90 = 27.40. Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.

Enhanced Check:

49.50 + administration cost of 5.90 = 55.40. Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.
