Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Anticoagulation team for a permanent post as a Band 6 Nurse Specialist. The team are based in Pathology at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and use the Dawn software to manage the patient caseload.



We are looking for a highly motivated and organised nurse to provide telephone dosing advice to a range of patients, complying with national guidelines. You will be able to communicate effectively with the patient, their carers their GP and staff providing the clinical and laboratory services. A caring and patient disposition is essential.



To provide a nurse-led anticoagulation service to patients referred to Haematology.



To promote effective communication between the patient, the laboratory and the patients GP or referring clinician, ensuring the

best possible care and advice is given to the patient.



Demonstrate specialist knowledge on all aspects of

anti-coagulation
