Duties
Assess, plan, and implement individualised care programmes for patients with diverse mental health needs
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times
Administer medication accurately in accordance with prescribed treatments and organisational policies
Provide emotional support and counselling to patients, fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, social workers, and psychologists to optimise patient outcomes
Document all care activities accurately and maintain comprehensive patient records
Support patients during their recovery process, encouraging independence and resilience
Participate in ward rounds, team meetings, and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development
Skills
Proven experience in patient care within mental health settings
Strong knowledge of human anatomy relevant to mental health nursing practices
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen empathetically and convey information clearly
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve patients' quality of life
Knowledge of current mental health legislation and best practice guidelines
