Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within our nursery setting. This position offers an opportunity to work in a nurturing environment, contributing to the growth and learning of young children through engaging activities and attentive care.

Duties

Assist with the daily supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication Support children's emotional well-being by providing reassurance and encouragement during activities Assist with meal times, nappy changes, and personal hygiene routines as required Help organise outings and excursions in accordance with nursery policies Contribute to record keeping, including observations of children's progress and behaviour

Requirements

Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages Strong management skills to oversee children's activities effectively Leadership qualities to guide and support younger or less experienced staff members when necessary Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and team members Childcare qualifications or relevant early childhood education certifications are preferred Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or transporting children if required A caring attitude, patience, organisation skills, and the ability to work as part of a team

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
