Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a strong commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child receives the care and attention they need to thrive.

Responsibilities



Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development. Provide high-quality childcare by ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive nursery environment. Support children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines, encouraging independence and self-confidence. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery space, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use. Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with senior staff as needed. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team atmosphere that prioritises children's needs.

Requirements



Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and adults. Demonstrated ability to manage groups of children while maintaining a calm and positive demeanour. Leadership qualities that inspire confidence in children and colleagues alike. A genuine drive to support children's learning and development through engaging activities. A proactive approach to problem-solving within the nursery setting. Relevant qualifications in childcare or early years education would be an advantage but are not mandatory.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.63 per hour

Expected hours: 27.75 per week
