Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and engaged in their learning journey.

Duties

- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote development in all areas: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive.
- Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children with personal care routines, including feeding, changing, and toilet training as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment by tidying up play areas and ensuring that resources are stored appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
- Observe and record children's progress and behaviour to contribute to individual development plans.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications

- A genuine love for working with young children is essential.
- Previous experience in a childcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- A relevant qualification in childcare or early years education would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and adults alike.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to use initiative when required.
- Knowledge of child development principles is beneficial.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
