We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Assistant to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood development and experience working with young children. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's growth and learning in a supportive environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and supporting the management team in delivering high-quality childcare services. They will also be able to work both flexible and full times hours, which are available.
Responsibilities
Support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children in the nursery setting
Assist with supervising children during playtime, mealtime, and rest periods
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations
Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment for children's development
Support with behavioural management and encourage positive social interactions among children
Collaborate with senior staff to plan and implement educational programmes
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily routines
Assist in managing nursery routines, including organising activities and maintaining records as required
Occasionally assist with transportation or driving duties related to nursery activities or outings
Skills
Proven experience working with children, ideally within a nursery or early childhood education setting
Strong management and leadership skills to support team coordination and child supervision
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and nurturing qualities when engaging with young children
Good organisational skills to manage daily routines efficiently
Knowledge of childcare best practices, health & safety standards, and child development principles
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
