Assistant Nursery Manager - Outdoor / Forest School Nursery

Do you have a passion for the outdoors, early years education, and child-led learning?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Nursery Manager to join our growing Forest School Nursery, where children learn through nature, exploration, and adventure.

As Assistant Nursery Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in leading our team, ensuring high-quality care and education, and creating a safe and inspiring outdoor learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety standards. Lead and motivate a team of practitioners, supporting training and professional development. Help plan, deliver, and evaluate Forest School-inspired activities that promote child-led learning. Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and the wider community. Support administrative tasks, including rota planning, parent communication, and record keeping. Step into the Manager role when required.

Essential Requirements:

Level 3 (or above) in Early Years Education/Childcare. Experience in a senior or leadership role within an early years setting. Passion for outdoor learning. Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A positive, nurturing, and adaptable approach to working outdoors in all seasons.

Desirable:

Forest School Level 3 qualification. Outdoor education, bushcraft, or environmental learning experience. Paediatric First Aid certification.
