We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Manager to join our award winning team. This role involves supporting the care and development of young children within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in creating a safe, engaging, and educational space for children to thrive. Previous nursery experience and strong communication skills are highly valued, along with a genuine passion for working with children. You will be third in command of the Nursery and one day a week will be in charge of the Nursery. You should teach and inspire budding practitioners in your team and uphold our high standards at all times. Part of your job may be spent supernumerary in the office helping out with management tasks.
Responsibilities
Support daily activities and routines for children, including play, learning, and rest periods
Implementing educational programmes aligned with early childhood development standards
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times
Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding children's progress and needs
Support management in organising outings or trips when necessary
Assist with administrative tasks related to childcare records and documentation
Teach and support staff in your team to be amazing practitioners.
Uphold high standards at all times and encourage staff to do the same.
Ensure safeguarding requirements are in place at all times.
Qualifications
Experience with children or nursery work is necessary
You must have minimum Level 3 in Childcare
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare practices
Strong management and leadership skills to support team collaboration
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate leadership qualities when needed
PFA preferable but not essential as we can support you with this
Forest School Training preferable but not essential
