Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team as maternity cover with the possibility of it becoming a permanent position . The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our nursery. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with staff, and a commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote early childhood development. Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being. Support the lead nursery staff in maintaining a clean, organised, and stimulating environment. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships. Observe and record children's progress, reporting any concerns to senior staff members. Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications

L3 qualified. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards children's needs. A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare is essential.
