Job Description
Working as part of a team to provide high quality care for children aged between 6weeks - 12 years
Previous experience in similar environment would be desirable
Minimum of Level 2 or 3 in childcare/early years is essential
It is essential to have a desire to work in a nursery/afterschool environment, enjoy the company of children and wish to contribute to their emotional and physical development. Provide a happy, loving, caring, warm and safe environment for the children.
As Nursery Assistant you will have considerable interaction with parents/carers so you must possess and demonstrate good verbal communication skills
Be part of a team
Maintain daily child attendance
Ensure that daily record keeping is filled in and filed
Help set up toys by following the plan of activities
Understand the maintenance of room by making sure plans, observations and rotas are being followed
Support the families and the individual child when he/she is new to the creche and settling in
Provide stimulating childcare appropriate to the age and development of the children
Ensure that you are at the child's level of play
Providing parents/carers with daily progress reports on daily activities undertaken, children's meal times, toileting needs etc.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
