Nursery Assistants

to join the bank to support the Children's nursery at

University Hospital Southampton

. There are two sites -

Southampton General Hospital

&

Western Community Hospital.

12.51 per hour

Offer fixable working hours between Monday to Friday 0730-1830

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and possess the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment. This role involves supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, and fostering their development through engaging play and learning experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote early childhood development. Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues in English to foster positive relationships. Support the lead nursery staff in managing daily routines and maintaining a clean, organised space. Observe children's behaviour and development, providing feedback to senior staff as necessary. Assist with basic administrative tasks related to nursery operations. Drive children to various activities or outings as required, ensuring their safety at all times.

Qualifications

Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is a must. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to manage groups of children effectively while demonstrating leadership qualities. A genuine interest in nurturing children's growth and development. A valid driving licence is an advantage for transporting children when needed. A commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all children in your care.
