Nursery Assistant Position Available - September Role

Position: Nursery Assistant Start Date: September

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the nursery team in delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 2-4 years.
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable to explore and learn.
  • Support children with personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, and maintaining hygiene.
  • Observe and assess children\'s progress and development, maintaining accurate records and reporting to senior staff and parents as required.
  • Collaborate with the nursery team to establish an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering effective communication and partnership.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and safeguarding procedures.
  • Aid in the maintenance of a clean and organised nursery environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of resources and learning materials.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Demonstrated passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its application.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patient, nurturing, and compassionate nature, coupled with a genuine love for working with young children.
  • Basic understanding of child development principles and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Desirable but not essential: Relevant childcare qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Childcare Certificate.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
