Pumpkin Lane Day Nursery is growing and we are excited to welcome passionate and dedicated Bank Nursery Practitioners to join our team. Our modern, vibrant setting provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 and we are looking for flexible practitioners who share our commitment to delivering exceptional early years care and education.

As a Bank Nursery Practitioner at Pumpkin Lane, you will support the nursery team across different rooms as required, helping to maintain high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS. You will play an important role in supporting children's wellbeing, development and daily routines, while working confidently and professionally as part of the wider team.

We are looking for individuals who are caring, reliable, flexible and proactive and who can step into the setting and support children effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Support the daily routine of the nursery, ensuring a safe, clean and well-prepared environment Provide high-quality care and engage children in play and learning opportunities Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures, sharing any concerns with the DSL Support children's personal care needs in line with nursery policies Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a calm, supportive and organised environment Follow all nursery policies, procedures and professional standards Attend relevant training (where required) to maintain safe practice Provide cover where needed due to staff absence, annual leave, busy periods or staffing requirements
(Please note: Bank staff may not be allocated key children but may contribute to observations and daily information as required.)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (preferred) Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to complete) Safeguarding and Child Protection training (or willingness to complete) Experience in an early years setting is desirable Strong understanding of the EYFS and how to put it into practice Excellent communication and teamwork skills Reliable, professional and committed to providing high-quality care
