Orchard Day Nursery is a private full-day care nursery established in 1991, offering a nurturing environment for children. Set in a beautifully converted Victorian church, our facility is conveniently located within walking distance to Queens Park and Brighton seafront.

Summary

We are currently seeking an Early Years Chef to join our dedicated team at Orchard Day Nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where the health and wellbeing of children is our top priority. The hours for this position are 8am-3pm

As nursery chef you will be responsible for the daily preparation of healthy and nutritious meals inline with the EYFS nutritional guidance for children aged 0-5 years. This will include catering for individual dietary needs and allergies. You will see oversee all aspects of kitchen operations in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy manager.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals in line with dietary and allergy requirements Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment in accordance with food safety standards Manage stock levels, rotation of stock, place food orders as required to management Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, allergy management, health and safety regulations Work collaboratively with a kitchen assistant (available 3 days a week) Produce new menu's termly

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year's experience in a catering or kitchen environment Food hygiene Level 2 certificate (Essential) A good understanding of allergen management and food safety standards Ability to plan and prepare meals in line with nutritional guidelines Level 3 Food Hygiene training will be funded by the nursery

Additional Information

Enhanced DBS check required (funded by nursery) Two satisfactory references will be required 500 bonus awarded upon successful probationary period Working hours 8am - 3pm week days only

Pay: 25,000.00-25,480.00 per year
