Summary

We are seeking a talented Chef to join our team at Monkey Puzzle Melody Lane. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that support the health and development of our children. Your culinary skills will contribute significantly to creating a positive dining experience in our nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals in accordance with dietary requirements. Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations. Plan menus that cater to the nutritional needs of young children. Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training new team members. Collaborate with nursery staff to create a welcoming dining atmosphere for children. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed. Providing nutritionally balanced meals and snacks to the children within the nursery throughout the day An excellent understanding of food intolerances, allergies and dietary requirements Responsibility for the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, the kitchen and food storage areas. Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and legislation.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of food preparation and safety standards. Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively. Excellent culinary skills with creativity in menu planning. Team management experience is preferred but not mandatory. Previous experience of working in a commercial kitchen, preferably working within Early Years, Schools or Elderly care. Hold a basic Food Hygiene certificate Be passionate about preparing fresh, balanced, nutritious meals for the babies and children in the nursery Good hygiene practice is essential
