We are seeking a talented and experienced Nursery Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and extensive experience in food preparation and kitchen management. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations organising stock, and delivering outstanding dishes that meet our quality standards.
Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen to ensure efficient food production and service
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
Oversee inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste
Ensure all food served is of high quality, visually appealing, and served in a timely manner
Collaborate with nursery staff to coordinate service delivery catering to dietary requirements and allergens
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
Proven experience in a culinary role within a busy nursery or school setting
Strong time management skills
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Formal culinary training or equivalent professional qualification is preferred
Adaptable to be able to work in a fast paced environment
