, Wandsworth (SW18) is looking for a warm, reliable, and organised individual to join our nursery team as a Nursery Chef. This role involves preparing fresh, healthy meals for children aged 0-5, supporting daily food service, and ensuring the kitchen is clean, safe, and well organised at all times.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking from scratch, takes pride in a clean and organised kitchen, and values being part of a friendly nursery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation
Organise, cook and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with nursery menus.
Prepare alternatives for children with allergies and special dietary requirements.
Plan menus, serve meals on time, and assist with serving food and cleaning up after.
Kitchen Operations
Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including ordering supplies, stock control, and record keeping.
Prepare shopping lists and store deliveries correctly.
Hygiene & Safety
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and health & safety.
Complete cleaning schedules, temperature checks, and prevent cross-contamination.
Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and nursery policies.
What We're Looking For:
Experienced cook with a passion for healthy food.
Knowledge of food hygiene and allergy awareness.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Food hygiene training (or willingness to complete, nursery funded).
