Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our thriving team at our Caerleon Nursery in Cardiff, situated within Jump play and party centre on a part time basis.

Your primary responsibility will be the preparation of meals in accordance with the healthy and nutritious menu offered to the children attending our wonderful childcare setting.

Previous kitchen experience is essential as is an up to date understanding of Food Hygiene Regulations in practice.

Hours are 16 hours per week, Midweek, all year round.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Prepare all meals for children aged 0-5 years Ensure all allergen and dietary requirements are adhered to Undertake regular deep cleans of their working kitchen Hold a level 2/3 health & hygiene qualification Have 1 years-experience in similar role Preparing, cooking and presenting food in line with required standards, ensuring prompt service and consistency of quality and portion size Preparing meals in accordance with any individual allergy requirements Stock Control to include ordering of ingredients, stock rotation and minimizing of wastage Observing all current relevant hygiene, health and safety guidelines Attending Management Meetings as required, assisting Management in the development of new menu ideas

Essential to role

A positive attitude A team player Good organisation skills Effective communication skills Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavour profiles, and food presentation Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils, including their proper use and maintenance Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices Willingness to undertake further training as required COSHH Knowledge
