Little Haven Nurseries are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practitioner to join our nursery and After school club team based at Pentyrch Primary School. The ideal candidate will have a good background in early childhood education and childcare, with the ability to effectively communicate and manage the needs of children in a nursery setting. This role is pivotal in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 2 years to 12 years, ensuring their developmental needs are met while promoting positive interactions.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in the nursery.
Develop and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood development.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
Manage daily routines, including meals, playtime, and rest periods.
Observe and assess children's progress, documenting milestones and areas for improvement.
Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and organised at all times.
Collaborate with team members to create a positive learning atmosphere.
Drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences and overall wellbeing.
Skills
Good understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
Abilities to guide and inspire both children and staff.
Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for nurturing children's development through play-based learning.
Ability to drive initiatives that support the growth of children within the nursery environment.
We invite enthusiastic individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children to apply for this rewarding position as a Childcare Practitioner. We are looking for level 2/3 or Playworker level 3 practitioners to join our existing team, we offer school nursery wraparound and after school provisions. The working hours are 36 hrs per week over 5 days, shifts vary starting and finish times between the hours of 7.30am to 5.30pm each day.

Monday - 9 - 5.30pm - 8hrs
Tuesday 11.30- 5.30pm 6hrs
Wed 11.30 - 5.30pm 6hrs
Thursday 9-5.30 8hrs
Friday 9-5.30 8hrs
36 hrs per week
