Cleaner - Northstowe Nursery (CB24 1DJ)

Term?time only | Monday-Friday, 17:00-18:30

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team at Northstowe Nursery. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, families, and staff, reflecting our commitment to high?quality care and education.

Responsibilities

Carry out daily deep cleaning of classrooms, play areas, toilets, and communal spaces. Replenish janitorial supplies throughout the nursery building. Restock crockery, cutlery, and cups in the kitchen, ensuring dishwashers are emptied. Manage daily laundry: empty, hang, and ensure items are dry and ready for the next day. Clear refuse throughout the building and ensure commercial bins are correctly positioned for collection. Clean interior glass and windows. Use cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively. Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment. Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Secure the building each evening, including setting the alarm and locking all gates and internal doors.

Experience & Skills

Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred. Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills in English. Friendly, reliable, and committed to supporting a safe environment for children. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
