You will be fully supported to excel in your role at Poppins by a well resourced and experienced management team, where in addition to a Nursery Manager, we have a dedicated Nursery Development Manager and an Administration Manager.

What we are looking for

At Poppins we are not only passionate about the children's learning but the environment they learn in too. This is why we are looking for an experienced cleaner to maintain the high standards of cleanliness throughout the setting. As you will be alone in the building where there is personal information/pictures of children, staff and families we will require you to have a current DBS certificate and enrol onto the update service. As well as this we will require 3 up to date references from you to secure the job.

The Role

You will be required to work 4 days a week, up to 2 hours a day, 52 weeks of the year. The areas you will be cleaning are two downstairs base rooms and a children's bathroom. There is also the opportunity to do a 1 monthly deep clean during weekends which includes the upstairs and moving furniture to clean. We would require you to clean in the evenings after 6:00pm once the children and staff have left.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To work through a cleaning rota efficiently and effectively Hoovering, Mopping, Wiping down sides, Cleaning toilets/sinks/bathroom, Wiping windows, Wiping touch points, Wiping down any tops of furniture, shelves and tables To maintain the cleanliness of the nursery to a high standard To let yourself into the building using a coded key box To ensure the building is secure and locked before leaving after your shift To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children To be aware of 'Poppins Day Nursery' policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to at all times To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately - in accordance with safeguarding children, child protection and whistleblowing policies To be reliable and punctual To reflect on practice and adapt accordingly Maintain confidentiality at all times To be aware of the high profile and reputation of Poppins Day Nursery and refrain from irresponsible behaviour that would impact the company's commercial success. To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents/carers, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment To cooperate and work effectively with all members of Poppins staff and management team, taking on additional responsibilities/duties as required.
