Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary staff in meal preparation and food safety practices. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and meals according to established recipes and standards. Support chefs in food preparation tasks, ensuring high-quality dishes are produced consistently. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Help with the setup and breakdown of the kitchen stations before and after service. Participate in inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing food items properly. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service hours. Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for cooking is key. Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety standards. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior culinary staff. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
