Nursery Cook & Housekeeper

Hours:

25 hours per week, Monday to Friday (start time flexible between 8:30-9:30am)

Do you have a passion for cooking healthy meals and creating a safe, welcoming environment for young children? We are looking for a dedicated Nursery Cook & Housekeeper to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our nursery setting.

About the Role

As our Nursery Cook & Housekeeper, you will:

Plan and prepare a variety of healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0-5. Cater for children with food allergies and intolerances, ensuring safe and inclusive menus. Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining high hygiene standards. Support the nursery team with housekeeping tasks, including cleaning communal areas and assisting with daily laundry. Work closely with staff, parents, and carers to ensure the best care and experiences for children

Passionate about healthy eating in early years. Organised, efficient, and able to work independently. Friendly, flexible, and a positive role model for both children and staff. Committed to safeguarding and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

A relevant Food Hygiene Certificate. Experience in menu planning and knowledge of Safer Food Better Businesspractices. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stay calm under pressure, with a sense of humour and a love for working with children.
(Paediatric first aid training is desirable, but not essential.)
