Nursery Cook

Bridges Day Nursery, Headcorn, Kent

We are looking for a caring and reliable

Nursery Cook

to join our growing team at Bridges Day Nursery in Headcorn.

The role is central to our nursery, as the health, wellbeing, and individual needs of our children always come first. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals that support children's development and meet dietary, allergy, and cultural requirements.

As we are still growing, this role will be a mix of

kitchen-based work and supporting within the nursery rooms

, helping to cover staff lunch breaks. As the nursery continues to grow and numbers increase, the role will naturally develop into more dedicated kitchen hours.

About the role

Preparing and serving fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children Following food safety, hygiene, and allergy procedures at all times Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards Supporting in nursery rooms during quieter kitchen periods to cover staff lunches Working as part of a team to ensure children are safe, happy, and well cared for

What we are looking for

Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety qualification (preferred) Experience preparing food in a childcare, school, or similar setting is desirable A child-first approach, with a good understanding of dietary and allergy needs Willingness to be flexible and support within nursery rooms when required Reliable, organised, and able to work well as part of a team

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-14.69 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
