Banana Moon Stirchley

is looking for a

Nursery Chook/chef

to join our friendly setting. We are a new nursery currently caring for around 70 children daily, however this will increase to 93 over the next couple of years. Banana Moon Stirchley operate a full day care provision, with children in attendance 51 weeks of the year, for hours between 7.30am and 6pm Monday - Friday. All meals are provided, including breakfast, mid-morning break, lunch and tea. The cook/ chef would need to prepare the hot lunch (12:00) and a hot tea (16:00). Also preparing a simple snack (fruit or crackers and cheese) at 10am and 2pm.

This role would suit someone who is highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic. We are looking for someone to take the lead with catering within the setting, this includes menu development, ordering of supplies this is a loan working position.

Full-time position, up to 40 hours a week. Hours are typically 9am - 5pm, however we are a flexible setting, so if you have set hours that you are looking for, please get in touch or apply (confirming the hours you are looking for), this will then be considered as part of our shortlisting.

About us:

Located on Cartland Road in Stirchley, we are a new purpose-built setting for children aged from 0-5 years old.

What we need from you:

Hard working and motivated individuals who are looking for the next challenge. A sound understanding of child oral and physical health and how this drives the menus and meals provided, ensuring a well-balanced and healthy diet. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines daily. Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean, tidy and that all appropriate measures are taken to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained. Knowledge and experience in catering for all, inclusive of any special dietary requirements. Budget management, ordering from a range of suppliers to deliver the very best quality meals in accordance with budgets in place.
Experience and qualifications:

Catering experience, ideally within a similar environment. Food hygiene certificate. Knowledge and relevant experience of food preparation and special dietary needs.

All positions are subject to enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references
