We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. Your creativity and culinary skills will contribute to an enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the planning and preparation of menus, ensuring seasonal ingredients are utilised effectively. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety guidelines at all times. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and available. Collaborate with management to ensure efficient meal service during the nursery day. Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, and any operational improvements.

Experience

Previous experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment or nursery environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for meal preparation. Familiarity with various cooking techniques and cuisines is an advantage. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually improve skills in food preparation and cooking.
