Nursery Cook
Job Description
Spring Childcare Agency is an established childcare agency who are currently providing early years educators to private day nurseries in and around Leeds and York area. We are now on the hunt for a family-style cook to join the team!
The role is completely flexible, which is great for people with other life commitments such as; family life, studies or may be even another employment. This means that, you can choose your own days in which you would like to work however we do ask that ideally you can work the hours of 9am - 1pm, one hour either side of these timings can be discussed.
Whilst experience in a commercial kitchen, like a school, nursery, or care home is desirable, we are not looking for someone with Michelin star training. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about great food and considers themselves a fantastic home cook, looking for the opportunity to feed a bunch of extra hungry tummies each day.
As this is as agency position, you will be to on hand to cover our permanent cooks absence, whether this be annual leave or sickness across all sites. We do understand that as this is not full time, guaranteed work we can also offer shifts as a nursery practitioner to top up your hours if you hold the relevant experience.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Following and delivering our client's menu, full of interesting, healthy, and seasonal lunches and light teas Catering for all the different dietary requirements and needs Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and associated stores. Ordering all food and kitchen equipment, as well as maintaining monthly records for stock-taking purposes. Adhering to the nursery policies and procedures

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
Catering experience (can be at-home experience!) Existing knowledge of food preparation for special dietary needs (or willingness to train towards) Must be a driver as you will be required to work at multiple settings around Leeds
Desirable
A recognized catering qualification Food hygiene certificate (if not can be completed during induction)
