Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced cook to employ within our Nursery setting. You will responsible for all of the meal prep as well as the cooking, cleaning of the kitchen, stock rotation and ordering of stock each week. You will have to follow all dietary requirements and be able to cook alternatives.

Hours will be set at 9.30am-2.00pm, working in the kitchen 10am - 1130pm and 1130pm until 1pm helping with the children, leaving the last hour for any additional kitchen prep or cleaning.

Cooking experience and food hygiene is essential, further training can be given.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure adequate supplies are available. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods.

Skills

Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or similar environment. Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation is highly desirable.
