We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Preschool team as a Cook. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for children aged 2-5 years. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, along with a commitment to maintaining food safety standards. The role is term-time only (38 weeks per year), working hours 10am - 1pm, Monday to Friday. Rates of pay dependent on experience.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are ready for use.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages.
Participate in menu planning and development.
Skills
Experience in food preparation and cooking.
Food Hygiene Level 2 preferable but not essential as training can be provided.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to ensure compliance in the kitchen.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members.
Clear DBS checks to ensure suitability to work with children.
