Job Description

The Position: Part Time Nursery Cook - Maternity Cover - Up to 12 months

20 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

We are looking for a caring, passionate person who can prepare home-cooked meals for our children aged 6 months to 4 years. You will provide delicious, balanced meals, following our three-week rolling menu.

What skills are we looking for:

To have an understanding of healthy foods for all children, including portion control and a commitment to serving foods that are seasonal, healthy and wholesome. Experience of working in catering, as a cook and /or in the preparation of food. Knowledge of food hygiene practices including preparation and storage of food.

Responsibilities for the role:

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen. To be responsible for preparation of weekly menus catering for all childrens dietary requirements. To maintain such records and under administrative duties as determined by the college and the food standards agency.

The Location:

The site is based at our Wigston Nursery. This a term time only position working 20hrs per week.
