Nursery Cook
Job Description
We are looking to recruit a cook to join our friendly team within our busy Newport Nursery to cover maternity leave with a possibility of a permanent contract to follow.
Our cook will prepare and serve all meals and snacks throughout the day for the children within our setting ages 0-12yrs. The role will involve strict record keeping in accordance with food hygiene procedures. Cleaning of the kitchen and equipment will be the responsibility of the cook.
*Some basic experience in catering/food industry would be preferable
*Current qualifications in food hygiene/catering would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
*A current DBS with the update service would be preferred but again not essential as full checks will be made before starting work.
Job Duties:
Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Follow recipes and presentation specifications
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards
Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
Cater for various dietary requirements and allergies
