Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nursery Cook to join our family-run children's day nursery team in Northwich. Our nursery is committed to a holistic approach to childcare, emphasizing learning through play and nurturing children's love of the outdoors. We provide a nurturing environment for children aged 0 to 5, focusing on their overall development through engaging activities and outdoor exploration. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh, healthy, and nutritious meals on-site, ensuring all dietary needs are met while supporting our mission to provide a stimulating and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation

: Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of meals and snacks that are nutritious and appealing to children from 0 to 5 years old.

Dietary Requirements

: Ensure all meals cater to special dietary needs, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.

Hygiene and Safety

: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations.

Menu Planning

: Develop and manage a menu system that ensures a balanced and varied diet for the children.

Stock Management

: Order supplies, manage stock rotation, and maintain accurate records of food purchases.

Team Collaboration

: Work closely with the nursery team to ensure seamless service and support the overall care and education provision.

Paperwork and Compliance

: Complete necessary paperwork, including meal records and safety checks, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Working Conditions:

Location

: Northwich, Cheshire.

Hours

: Monday to Friday, approximately 17-19 hours per week.

: Competitive, dependent on experience.
